We provide
water based activities for all ages and
abilities including windsurfing, sailing,
canoeing, kayaking, raft building,
powerboating and first aid courses.
Three clubs
are available for sailing, canoeing and
windsurfing, membership fee starting at
£15 per year.
AALA licence, RYA Registered Training
Centre and BCU Approved.
Hawkhirst is
approximately 50 miles north west of
Newcastle and extends over 70 acres of
mainly coniferous forest.
Located within
200 square miles of the Kielder Forest,
it is surrounded on three sides by the
vast expanse of Kielder Water.
It's hard to
imagine anywhere more ideally suited to
its purpose of providing outdoor
adventures and learning for groups.
On either side
of Hawkhirst Peninsula are sheltered
creeks, ideal for basic canoeing and
rowing.
We own a considerable fleet of sailing dinghies,
canoes and other craft. Price: Call centre for
prices. Accommodation: Three units offered on a
full board basis. The forest offers excellent
camping in specially cleared areas. You can also
be sure that you won't be far away from toilet
facilities or fresh running water.
We are situated at
Wykeham Lakes on the Dawnay Estate, north-east
of York. This beautiful area is close to the
North York Moors National Park, and nearby
stretch the rugged coast and sandy beaches of
Scarborough, Filey, and Whitby.
In other words a perfect location for all
manner of outdoor pursuits and adventure
activities.
Our instructors are highly
experienced and hold the relevant National
Governing Body qualifications. Our mission is to
deliver professional tuition whilst making the
experience rewarding and enjoyable for all. Watersports include sailing, windsurfing,
kayaking, canoeing, bell-boating, raft-building.
A range of Watersports are offered at this
purpose built centre including sailing dinghies,
windsurfs, rowing boats, pedal boats, rafting
sets, and a variety of canoes are available,
both for hire and for use on courses.
