Situated beside the
River Dever (a tributary of the legendary River
Test), a big-fish water where many 20 lbs plus
Rainbows and Browns are taken each season.
The fishery comprises two spring fed lakes
totalling six acres and a half a mile stretch of
the River Dever.
The lakes are well established, abounding with
aquatic fly life, which includes an abundant
Mayfly hatch in each season.
These crystal clear
waters enabled discerning anglers to stalk
exceptional fish.

Holbury Lakes Trout
Fishery covers 40 acres of Test Valley
countryside, and has been described as "the
best-kept secret in Hampshire".
It includes four
lakes totalling 7.5 acres, each with its own
character; it also has 1000 yards of fishable
banks of the River Dun, a tributary of the Test.
The average lake depth is 2+ metres (around 7
feet), and they are kept well stocked with
rainbow and blue trout.
The River Dun is stocked with brown trout only,
and has a good head of wild fish. Holbury is noted for the
quality of the fish, and we are very mindful of
the need to preserve its unique ecology. It is a
peaceful, scenic place to fish; with abundant
wildlife to be seen, from buzzards to bank
voles. Flyfishing tuition is available by
arrangement for fly fishers of all abilities.

Description: Approx. 2 acres. Drive
through Carisbrooke from Newport turn right at
Waverly roundabout. Pond is situated about 1/2
mile up the road on the left through metal five
bar gate just before Alvington Manor View. Go
through gates park up its down the dip! Very
beautiful pond. Lovely setting , very
picturesque. Fish: Tench to 4lb, Common and Mirror
Carp between 2lb and 13lb, Common Bream to 4lb,
Roach to 1lb (getting bigger) Rudd to 1lb, Perch
to 2lb and Pike to 20lb.

ticket water £6.50 per day. Other Lake is Syndicate
and contains better fish. Fish: Day Ticket water contains many

River Yar

Description: Situated near to the B3395.
Here one can fish the right hand bank looking
downstream of Yarbridge to the first sluice and
left hand bank looking upstream of Yarbridge to
the small brick pumphouse. Pretty peaceful
setting. Fish: The odd carp to 14lb Common bream
to 7lb, Roach to 1 1/2 lb, Dace to 10oz, Gudgeon,
Tench to 4lb together with the odd roach/rudd
Hybrid and Roach/bream Hybrid and Perch to 1lb.
Somerton Reservoir

Description: About 2 acres of deep
reservoir water near to main road. Fish: Carp to 20lbs.

Advance booking advisable, however tackle hire
available and children under 14 years must be
accompanied by an adult. The fishery is open
7.30am to dusk, but closed on Tuesdays. Day
tickets £8 per fisherman (max 2 rods).
The fishery comprises of six spring fed lakes,
each approximately an acre in size. We also have
three chalk stream boats, two of which can be
booked exclusively. The fishery is set well back
from the road and is surrounded by woods,
offering peaceful and picturesque surroundings.

Lots of trees around lake
with most swims on water level. Very lake
averaging about 3 feet deep.
There is plenty of cover
tight to the bank in most pegs. Two islands one at
each end of the lake. Carp lake, mostly "wildies".
Some mirror averaging 2lb - 4lb. There are plenty
of roach to catch averaging 3oz and the very odd
tench averaging 12oz. Day tickets which cost £6.00
available are for this water. Open all year. This
water is suitable for disabled anglers.
Fed by the pristine waters
of the Avon, Manningford is one of Wiltshire’s
best known fisheries.
It is set in the heart of
the Pewsey Vale and consists of a 4.5 acre lake
along with a smaller lake for Brown & Rainbow
trout fishing. Day and half day tickets available.
