Midmar stillwater
fishery consists of 11 acres of excellent
quality water with three spring-fed lochs
stocked with hard fighting rainbow, brown and
blue trout.
The insect life is abundant and the tiniest of
flies can often prove useful here.
The fishery lies just
15 miles west of Aberdeen in a tranquil,
unspoilt location and is surrounded by rolling
hills and pine forest.
Scotland's most famous trout and coarse fishing
waters, with four trout fishing lochans and one. On-site tackle shop, reception,
tackle hire, and café. Self catering Woodland
Lodges also available.
This man-made loch is stocked with Rainbow,
Brown and Blue Trout. A fishing
lodge overlooks the loch, carrying fishing
equipment, refreshments and the warmth of the
wood burning stove.

This stretch of river
runs from the Ken Bridge on the cross road
A713/A712 down stream and access is via the gate
on New Galloway side of the bridge, go under the
bridge and the river fishing stretch starts
there.
The river holds
various sized wild brown trout for the game
fisher and numerous pike and perch for the
coarse angler.
Wadding is not advised as
sudden rises in water levels due to power
station operations up stream, there is no fixed
time for this so caution is advised. Trout, Pike
Perch and Bream in this Loch also a favourite
for the Roach angler - permits available from
the shop and post office in nearby New Galloway.

This loch is just off
of the A745 Castle Douglas to Dalbeattie road,
turn left just before Buittle church and follow
the road for about 2 miles until the signposts,
and then it’s just a short walk to the loch and
boathouse.
Buittle loch is
stocked with a good quality fish monthly and
carries some large fish of both species giving
you plenty of work when hooked.
Fishing from the bank is
easy and there is plenty of scope, only two
areas are inaccessible because of trees, but
there are boats available.

This loch is situated on the A762, approximately
8 miles outside New Galloway towards
Kirkcudbright. Woodhall is a large loch with
plenty of sheltered bays holding strong healthy
fighting fish for good coarse fishing days all
year round. The added attraction is the
different wildlife all around the loch. The loch
is easily accessible from the roadside laybys,
with just a short walk to the banks.
The Dalswinton Estate
fishing’s are within the lower reaches of the
river and are divided into 2 beats.
The entire stretch
offers good holding for late autumn salmon and
early season sea trout.
There are 23 named
pools or flats and these provide for the full
range of methods.
The beats are well
marked.
Fishing huts are
located next to each of the beats.
Most
of the pools are easily fished, but some
sections require a bit of care when wading. The Estate has a manager
who oversees the fishing on a daily basis and
who can give added assistance to those anglers
who feel the need for a 'ghillie'.
The Old
Sawmill is the ideal base for a relaxing
retreat, nestled in the Urr Valley in
Dumfries and Galloway, Southwest
Scotland.
A unique
self-catering experience away from the
hustle and bustle of it all in a
beautiful riverside location.
We have
renovated the cottage to a very high
standard using high quality materials to

This is a picturesque Loch situated on the
Raiders Road Forest Drive, entrance to which is
on the New Galloway to Kirkcudbright Road about
5 miles outside New Galloway on route to
Mossdale.
There are a lot of good weed and lily beds on
this Loch and spinning is allowed as well as
baiting.
This is a peaceful spot for the fisherman and
also a chance to see some wildlife. Raiders Road
also has picnic areas so the family may enjoy
the fresh air and scenery.

We aim to promote fishing on the River Almond,
at a very affordable price. We offer around 3 miles of single (mix left and right)
bank fishing on River Almond. The beat is
located about 4 miles to the North West of
Edinburgh city centre. There is a good access to
the river, with a car park being right on the
river bank, and bus routes are just minutes
away. Main species are brown trout and sea
trout. Salmon have also been caught although in
a very small number. Catch and release
especially for salmon is highly recommended.
Day permits are available to visiting anglers
and are obtainable from the Post Office listed
above. The season runs from 1st April each
year and closes on the 31st October.
Tweeddale Millennium has been voted by various
authorities as Scotland's favourite still water
fishery. Its the current Scottish rainbow trout
record holder and boasts of having the best fish
around. Their are 3 pools - 2 fly only and 1
bait/any legal method. All pools are stocked
regular with quality trout. We cater for angling
clubs, cooperate days, and the general public.

Teal Bay is strictly fly only and has the
biggest trout of all including many specimen
trout weighing into double figures.

and spinning are all firm favourites for
catching these trout.
Lodge Bay is for the coarse angler. This Bay has
