A busy market town close
to Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn boasts the
remains of a 15th century castle and lies
peacefully on the banks of the River Teifi.
It is famous as a centre
of the so-called Rebecca Rioters who protested
over the introduction of toll charges.
The first Welsh printing
press was established here at the beginning of
the 18th century. |
