This village lies close to the
border with Wales and has an unusual reminder of
the days of black magic – a sandstone pillar into
which is carved a local legend about a stone
circle created to imprison a local witch. The
2000BC circle, Mitchell’s Fold, contains 14 of the
original 30 stones and can be found not far away
at Chirbury in Shropshire. |
