The privately owned golf course is situated 1 mile down stream of Hay-on-Wye over the border into England and the county of Herefordshire. The Golf Course was built in 1993 and set in 73 acres of open rolling farmland. The Course and Clubhouse is owned and run by Mr. David Bowen and his family.

The challenging nine-hole 5858 yards par 70 course was designed to test and stretch the skills of the experienced golfers, yet not intimidate newcomers to the game. The course was built to an exceptional standard and also to U.S.G.A. specifications with the same construction of tees and greens as used on the American professional circuit. Under new ownership in October 2000 the course has undergone improvements to the greens, drainage, new bunk sand and water hazards. Also completed in the summer of 2002 was a 3-hole par 3 pitch and putt course, ideal for juniors, beginners or just for those golfers needing a little practice.

Just a few miles from the picturesque town of Ross-on-Wye is the South Herefordshire Golf Club. Built in 1990 the club has recently undergone a transformation. The area is renowned for the beauty of its gentle rolling hills and picturesque valleys.

The course has super views over the three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire and in the far distance the Black Mountains of Wales. The club has the 6800-yard Twin Lakes course; a 12 bay floodlit driving range and a 9-hole par 3-academy course. The course has been improved by significant investment in new equipment, where the most obvious benefits can be seen on the tightly mown fairways and smooth fast running greens.

Ross-on-Wye is a challenging woodland course set among rolling countryside some 7 miles from the picturesque town of Ross-on-Wye. Ross is a woodland course carved out of an oak and silver birch forest and standing on the 1st or 10th tee it is hard to believe that this excellent layout has only been in existence for 40 years. Its tree lined, undulating fairways and small well-contoured greens test all golfers' repertoire of shots.

Ross is a course that demands strategy, creativity and most of all patience as well as that elusive golf talent to hit a ball consistently straight. Ross has good practice facilities with putting, chipping and pitching facilities close to the club house. A driving range some 50 yards from the clubhouse provides golfers with the opportunity to practice the long game. For a full description of the course and a hole-by-hole guide see our website. Tree lined undulating parkland course. 18 holes 6451 yards. S.S.S. 71. Driving range practice area.
