Camphill is just the place for you to try
gliding for the first time. We'll give you a
flight that you will always remember. You'll
find out just how easy it is to soar like a
bird. You would be taken up in a two seat glider
by a British Gliding Association qualified
instructor. We'll tell you a bit about gliding
so you can appreciate what is going on. Usually
you can have a go at using the controls - we'll
teach you to fly the glider fly straight & level
and to bank & turn - that's if you'd like to
try. During summer weekdays you may be able to
book your trial lesson by calling the office a
day or two in advance. At the weekends come to
the club house, or the launch point if we are
already flying, and put your name on the flying
list. We cannot guarantee a particular time at
weekends, but there is plenty to see while you
are waiting. Members on duty will keep you
informed of your likely flight time. All flights
are on a first come, first served basis.

We are a full time tow school run by a
professional and dynamic team. We offer the
highest standard of tuition for paragliding,
hangliding, paramotors, powered hangliding &
microlights. We produce pilots!
Britains oldest BHPA approved school.
Beginners/advanced courses/day tasters.
Equipment provided. Get high and stay up with
the friendly professionals.
In the Peak District we are the primary flying
school. We have negotiated training hills in the
beautiful Peak District National Park. We have
access to more than twenty hill sites and a tow
site, covering all wind directions and all pilot
abilities. The instruction is carried out by
BHPA qualified instructors. We have a friendly
professional team, whose intimate knowledge of
local sites and conditions will make your
passage to pilot a success. Hang Gliding and
Paragliding are potentially dangerous and are
governed by the British Hang Gliding &
Paragliding Association. You will be learning on
certified equipment which offer you the best
opportunities in both performance and safety.
The school is situated in the centre of the
Peaks only forty minutes drive from Sheffield,
Manchester, Derby and only three hours from
London.
