Heavens Above is an
environmentally friendly establishment with
spacious, airy rooms, craftsman made furniture
and real paintings, stained glass and solid oak
floors (in two rooms). We aim to provide a
refuge from some of the "ills" of modern life eg.
smoking, television, plastic floors, plastic
food and plastic people.
The restaurant
(our main business), where you eat your
breakfast, is mainly organic, using locally
sourced food wherever possible. We have been
applauded in the national press for quality and
value for money by Mathew Fort (Guardian) and
praised (which is not her usual style) by Paddy
Burt of the Telegraph. We are in the Good Food
Guide and also have been awarded a rosette from
the AA for quality food.

Here at the George Inn,
we pride ourselves on the traditional warmth and
friendliness of our welcome. This is a village
pub as pubs always used to be, with a relaxed
atmosphere, real ales and home cooked food using
local produce.
You won't find fruit
machines or juke boxes here, just crackling log
fires in the winter and a sunny courtyard garden
for whiling away summer's afternoons.
