Llanymynech Golf Club
was formed in 1933 and has grown from that
original 9 holes, basically the existing back 9,
to its current 18 hole layout when the 4th, 5th
and 6th holes were opened in 1971.
These 3 holes are in England where as the rest
of the course is in Wales.
The 4th hole is unique in that you
drive off in Wales and putt out in England. The Course itself is situated on
the site of a Roman Hill Fort and research
exists to give evidence that Caractacus fought
one of his last battles here against the Roman
invaders. The Club is a member of the Shropshire
and Herefordshire County Union and although
being 80% in Wales is affiliated to the English
Golf Union. Facilities
include buggy hire, practise area, putting
green, well stocked pro shop and clubhouse with
full catering facilities.
The layout was
designed by Frank Pennink of C.K. Cotton & Co.
The course is now one of the best in the county
with it's natural features shown in their finest
form.
Measuring 6468 yards with a SSS of 71, the
course offers golfers some challenging holes

respect. Visitors and societies are welcome to
enjoy the lush fairways and superb greens. The
Professional is always ready to offer advice and
tuition and provide golfers needs from his shop

The
Shropshire is a fantastic setting for Golfing
Days.
Developed in 1992,
The Martin Hawtree designed course comprises
three loops of 9, covering over 250 acres of
undulating land.
The course has an
American flavour, with water features, wide
contoured fairways and rolling greens, guarded
by trees, hummocks and vast bunkers. Every loop
of 9 has holes to remember. The 5th on the Gold
is a tough dog leg to an elevated green.
The 543 yard 9th on the
Silver has a uniquely shaped green protected by
a canal and a lake, and the classic Par 3, 4th
on the Blue is reminiscent of the 12th at
Augusta, which plays over a lake to the green. A
central location means that your party will be
able to navigate their way to us easily from
whichever direction they may be travelling.
