Welcome to The Poppy House, situated within the town of Bishop’s Castle, not far from Ludlow, in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire hills.   The Poppy House is well known in Bishop's Castle and the surrounding area - it is a licensed café and restaurant with en-suite accommodation which has recently been extensively refurbished.

 
We aim to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can relax and chill out. We have 2 double rooms with king size beds and 2 double/twin rooms which both have 1 king & 1 single bed.
 

Adjoining The Poppy House, overlooking the courtyard and the longest remaining stretch of the old castle wall is Bakehouse Cottage. It is tastefully furnished and decorated and fully carpeted.   The cottage is not suitable for people with movement difficulties. Sorry - no pets or smoking permitted. Formerly the gatehouse to Broadway House the owners' historic home it sits in lovely gardens close to the Offa's Dyke long distance path. Ludlow's gourmet restaurants and racecourse Powis Castle and the Ironbridge Gorge are all easily accessible and there is excellent walking fishing riding and golf locally. Church Stoke's village shops pubs and restaurants are just 2 miles away.
