Set in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, Tittesworth Water has something for everyone.

 
Outside there's a children's play area for all ages, refreshment kiosks - serving snacks, ice cream and drinks, a sensory garden, 2 bird hides, 2 walks and copious amounts of grass to keep the kids happy. You'll also find an undercover BBQ area, so the British weather needn't spoil your fun and plenty of picnic tables dotted around the site.

 

In the Visitor Centre, we have a new redesigned shop, 80 seater restaurant, serving everything from bacon baps in the morning, Staffordshire Oatcakes for lunch and cream teas in the afternoon.

 

The centre also houses award winning toilets, including disabled and baby change facilities. The visitor centre has easy access to all areas including disabled parking facilities and wheelchair access to picnic tables and play equipment.

The Natural Science Centre is an educational and recreational visitor centre situated in Newchapel, one of the oldest villages in North Staffordshire. The famous engineer and canal builder, James Brindley, is buried here. The Director is Michael Pace who has written many articles on astronomy and given lectures to local groups. The Centre has a planetarium, observatory, alternative energy displays and a large conservation area. New solar telescope now enables visitors to observe the Sun's incredible surface in the daytime. The themes and their relationship to each other provide a memorable experience for visitors. The Centre caters for all ages and has wheelchair access. Guided tours and slide shows give a better insight into the many themes portrayed. This applies especially to school parties, local societies and interest groups. Teachers will be particularly interested in the relevance to the new National Curriculum for Science and Geography. Families can take advantage of the pleasant picnic areas around the site.

The Foxfield Light Railway Society at Blythe Bridge is run as an attraction by volunteer enthusiasts on what was once a colliery line constructed in 1893 to carry coal from Foxfield Colliery to the North Staffordshire Railway at Blythe Bridge.

Visitors can enjoy a 5-mile steam-hauled round trip though some of North Staffordshire's delightful countryside and view a selection of the society's collection of locomotives, rolling stock and railway relics.


The "Station Buffet" provides light refreshments and there is a souvenir shop.

Cheddleton Station is home to the Churnet Valley Railway, another steam railway run by enthusiasts who have seen their hard work rewarded as they have gradually managed to acquire more of the route to extend their service.

They now run from Leek Brook to Froghall, a trip which includes one of the longest tunnels on any preserved railway.
