Edgbaston Watersports has offered water based activities at Edgbaston Reservoir since the early 80’s.

 

The team here are pleased to be able to offer high quality water based activities including sailing, windsurfing, raft building, canoeing, kayaking and powerboating.

 

 
The reservoir is located on the Western side of Birmingham city, and is therefore easily accessible from all areas within the city. The reservoir itself is a large expanse of water which was designed by Sir Thomas Telford to provide water for Birmingham’s canal system.

 

All safety equipment is provided by Edgbaston watersports and is checked regularly to keep a high standard as well as boats used on the reservoir. RYA Training Centre. AALA licensed.

The Centre is situated adjacent to the Wyreley & Essington Canal in Brownhills. A calendar of events and activities takes place throughout the year, including orienteering, off-road cycling and local history/nature walks. We also provide B C U canoe training courses, from beginners to higher level coaching qualifications. The Centre contains a British Waterways boater’s service station, temporary moorings, visitor’s toilet and shower facilities and is conveniently situated right next to a large Tesco’s supermarket.
Kayak or canoeing sessions for: Individuals or family groups (any age), Birthday parties, School groups, youth or community groups, Corporate team building days, Day, weekend or evening sessions. Drop-in sessions, Saturdays 12.30 till 2.30. For bookings or any other enquiries.
