Snowdonia Riding Stables
offers super riding, hacking or trekking in the
magnificent scenery between Snowdon and the sea.
We are situated in the
valley of the river Gwyrfai with miles of
traffic-free bridleways giving us safe access
through the beautiful countryside as we ride up
into the hills of Snowdonia. We have carefully
selected ponies and horses to provide a range of
sizes, types and temperaments to suit all
riders. What ever your ability we have a horse
or pony that you will enjoy riding here in
Snowdonia.
Rides leave daily for one or two hour treks. The
treks explore the lower slopes of Snowdon,
enjoying breathtaking scenery. Alternatively,
the rides take the old miners tracks above the
village, returning along disused railway tracks
alongside the shores of the picturesque Llyn
Padarn. One or Two Hour Treks. Half and full day
rides can be arranged for experienced riders if
booked in advance.
Approved trekking and riding centre situated
amidst beautiful scenery outside the medieval
town of Conwy. We have the largest selection of
horses and ponies in the area and all rides are
supervised by highly experienced leaders onto
the adjoining mountains and valley for safe
enjoyable treks. Shortest rides are approx. 40
mins - ideal for the novice. One or one and a
half hour rides are again good for the novice
who wish to take a lower ride, however it's also
for good experienced riders as the route splits
off for canters. More experienced riders can
benefit from the 2 hr rides for mountain or
beach adventures.
To help you improve and enjoy your riding every
possible facility has been provided. Both the
Indoor School (1,500 sq metres) and the Outdoor
Arena (1,500 sq metres) provide very spacious
areas to ride in. Both are designed to allow you
to work in "open order". Both schools have a
large selection of BSJA polypropylene show jumps
designed for safety and providing many highly
coloured fillers, poles and wings. This allows
our instructors to provide jumps and courses to
suit both the novice rider as well as those
competent to jump big fences. There are two
cross country courses spread over 40 acres, one
for the novice jumper and the other for the more
experienced. With a selection of 30 fences,
including ditches, water, hedges etc., there are
jumps to suit everyone. We have created a
natural Amphitheatre, which provides viewing for
up to two thousand people with a 5,000 sq metre
arena. With a beautiful wooded backdrop this is
the venue for shows throughout the year. Events
and training in the amphitheatre will include
jousting, trick riding, show jumping, dressage,
and high school. We believe this is the only one
in the UK.
