LLANWRTYD WELLS Close to Tregaron on the River Irfon amid spectacular scenery, this old spa town has become a pony-trekking centre. The town developed around a sulphur spring after a local cleric spotted a sprightly frog leaping from the ‘stinking well’. Unusual features of the town are tall Victorian houses.
