Cardiff and South Glamorgan
Golf Courses, Clubs,
Driving Ranges
Formed in 1905 and is
situated on the south facing slopes of the hills
north of Cardiff with many holes offering
panoramic views across the City of Cardiff and
the Bristol Channel to the Somerset coast.
Although not a long course
5338 yards par 68 its undulating nature creates
many and varied golfing challenges. Its length
ensures a comfortable round of between 3 and 4
hours and also does not present too intimidating
a challenge to the high handicap golfer. Large
well appointed Clubhouse and well stocked pro
shop. Traditional warm welcome to visiting
golfers.

Thornhill, Cardiff see our website.
This lovely
old parkland course really is an
agreeable place to play a round of golf.
The first hole takes you away from the clubhouse
in a steady but not strenuous climb to a level
green (nowhere on this course is there a tough
climb) which is not too difficult to make a par 4
on. After this the course winds its way through
and around delightful parkland before heading home
with a great finishing hole, which demands a
straight drive and an approach shot to a blind and
sunken green close to the clubhouse.
Three miles south-west of Cardiff
and off the A4055 is the delightful 18-hole
parkland course of Dinas Powis, which takes the
name of the pleasant small and ancient village
of Dinas Powis.
An undulating course in
peaceful surroundings and with a cosy little
clubhouse, it is hard to believe it was taken
over to the growing of vegetables for the war
effort during the Second World War. Now fully
recovered, this is a popular place to play, as
can be vouched by the membership of some 700,
which is amazing in a smallish county that can
boast 14 good golf courses. Worth a visit.
