A small, attractive Georgian town with some
fine, half-timbered buildings, Montgomery is
overlooked by the ruins of a 13th century castle
and the slopes of dramatic hills.
Henry III
built the castle in the mid-13th century. Nearby
is a preserved section of Offa’s Dyke.
