This curious Victorian seaside resort is the only place in Britain to have a name ending in an exclamation mark! Originally it only had a single hotel that took its title from Charles Kingsley's book of the same name. A great bonus is that the village boasts a splendid beach that stretches for two miles in front of a promenade protected by a famous ridge of pebbles. Nearby Northam Burrows Country Park boasts a large expanse of dunes.
