This Dartmoor
village sits on the River Avon in the south of
the National Park and prospered as a woolen
centre. Nearby, on the moors, are numerous
prehistoric remains ranging from hut circles
to barrows. St Petroc’s Church has an
impressive Norman tower and a 12th century
font.
