| An ideal base
from which to explore the many charms of
Dartmoor National Park, this is a small town
with a long history. The National Trust owns
a group of almshouses dating to the early 17th
century as well as Castle Drogo, which stands
proudly above the Teign Valley. It was built
of granite in the last century by Julius Drewe,
a partner in the Home and Colonial Stores, and
designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens. |
