Coast including a morning walk with tea/coffee
and muffins, and an afternoon Devon cream tea
walk. Llamas are gentle, inquisitive animals and
make ideal walking companions. They carry packs
containing all the food & drink, and we stop

magnificent scenery. We are very fortunate in
being based on a 330 acre working farm just

The Park offers a fun environment for children
to enjoy non - stop activity in the woodland
adventure playgrounds. There is a lake fed from
the river with a "Kontiki" raft, fun ropes and
obstacles to challenge the more adventurous. Our
magnificent 90 acre park was once part of a
Victorian Country Estate. We have majestic
trees, both native and exotic and in Spring the
Park is a blaze of colour from the numerous
rhododendrons and azaleas. Holne Park was the
home of the High Sheriff of Devon, The Hon.
Richard Dawson. His Victorian enthusiasm for
collecting brought many rare and beautiful
species of trees to the park. Now you can enjoy
the Park, the lakes, gardens and arboretum
beside the River Dart. Climb Jacob's ladder and
walk through the scenic Sinai Valley and

heathland, grassland, lake and marsh. There is a
substantial variety of wildlife, notably
dragonfly and wildfowl, as well as other bird
life, insects and both small and larger mammals.
The range of habitats are easily accessible from
a network of surfaced and un-surfaced paths. The
historical development of the area from the 18th
century is apparent within the Country Park and
at adjacent sites of the remains of the canal
and railway. There is a marked Heritage Trail
extending 4.5 miles beyond the park. The Templer
Way also passes through the park. The main
feature of the Park is the 10 acre lake and
marsh which is used by a variety of wildfowl
over the winter months. The park is designated
as a Site of Special Scientific Interest
primarily because of the dragonfly population.
Extensive deciduous and coniferous woodland are
interspersed with pockets of lowland heath and
grassland providing habitats for a range of
visiting and resident wildlife. Notable mammal
species include roe deer and dormice and otter.
Greenfinch and other birds find shelter and
protection in the trees in winter where in the
summer spotted flycatcher and tawny owl breed.
