Located near Basingstoke,
this elegant town has a wide main street with
timber-framed houses and a 14th century
church.
Nearby stand the ruins of
Odiham Castle from where King John journeyed
to Runnymede to sign the momentous Magna
Carta, giving more power to his recalcitrant
barons.
In 1216 the castle was
besieged by the French Dauphin. |
