Quintessentially English, Bridport and its
surroundings were used as settings for the TV
series ‘River Cottage’ whilst nearby is a
small fishing harbour, location of the BBC
drama ‘Harbour Lights’.
The ancient town
centre – two miles from the coast - lies on
the River Brit and is still a centre for rope,
nets and ale making. Thomas Hardy re-named it
‘Port Bredy’ in his novels. |
