We are a RYA and BCU
sailing and kayaking centre based on Brownsea
Island. Children aged from 8-18 are offered a
range of courses to enhance their skills in the
areas of sailing and kayaking. Harbour Challenge
strives to introduce core life skills and value
to the younger generations within the community.
We aim to introduce team effort and working
together as one of our primary messages.
Children are encouraged to work together to make
tasks easier and more enjoyable and we hope that
they will develop these skills and adapt them to
everyday life.
We provide the following
courses. Level 1 - Start Sailing , Dinghy Level
2 - Basic Skills, Dinghy Day Sailing, Dinghy
Seamanship, Dinghy racing. Youth Sailing Scheme
- Start Sailing Stage 1, Start Sailing Stage 2,
Start Sailing Stage 3, Start Sailing Stage 4.
Powerboat Level 1 Course, Powerboat Level 2
Course, Safety Boat Course. BCU Kayaking courses
available at all levels.

This friendly club provides an all round
canoeing / kayaking experience for novice &
experts alike. The club is based at Christchurch
rowing club on the quay. Qualified coaches in
attendance at all times. Minimum age 8 years.
Days/Times: The club meets every Thursday
evening at 6.15p.m. during the season (Daylight
permitting) Club trips are organised on a
regular basis at weekends.
The club welcomes new members of all abilities
and recommends that you visit Forward Diving
Services, Arthur Bray's Yard, West Quay Road,
Poole as members are often found in the shop;
the staff are always happy to answer any basic
queries.

regarding the "Come-and-try-it" sessions
scheduled for the autumn. Classroom and pool
training following the BS-AC syllabus
starts in January and continues until March,
when the sea diving begins.
The key project of the group involves the
excavation of the East India Ship, The Earl of
Abergavenny which sank in Weymouth Bay in 1805.
This project is now in its twenty third year.
