This pleasant East Sussex
village near Tunbridge Wells was an important
centre of the Sussex iron industry until the
last ore was mined at Snape Wood in 1850.
Not
far from the village is the mighty reservoir
of Bewl Water, the biggest inland water in
southeast England.
It’s a haven for
windsurfers, yachtsmen, anglers and other
water-sport enthusiasts. |
