An old fishing village
near Hastings, St. Leonard’s suddenly found
itself at the centre of a tourist boom during
the 19th century after builder James Burton
decided to create a smaller version of
Brighton.
His vision created a resort with
elegant Regency villas and modest terraces.
Its double-tiered promenade is shared with
Hastings. |
