One of the largest
villages in the south of England, Ringmer has
been a settlement since Roman times and has a
13th century church and traditional village
green.
Its symbol is of a tortoise named
Timothy owned by the naturalist Gilbert White
who lived in nearby Hampshire.
Famous
residents of Ringmer include John Harvard,
founder of Harvard University.
Nearby is the
must-see Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum. |
