An old market town on the
River Rother, Midhurst has fine old inns and
many good walks.
It is located in a beautiful
region of Sussex.
Nearby is the tree-filled
picnicking paradise of the Cowdray Park estate
and the ruins of the 16th century Cowdray
House.
The estate is famous for its polo
tournaments.
The poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge
holidayed in Midhurst in 1817. |
