During the 16th and 17th
centuries Heathfield largely relied on the
trade in iron and was at one time famous for
producing cannons.
It lies on part of the
National Cycle Network known as the Cuckoo
Trail and holds an annual fair called the Heffle Cuckoo Fair.
The local park contains a
55ft tall folly named the Gibraltar Tower. |
