No visit to Sussex would
be complete without a visit to this East
Sussex coastal town, originally the region’s
main Cinque Port.
The Romans occupied the area
for a time and William the Conqueror landed
nearby at Selnac (or Battle), to defeat King
Harold in 1066.
He built mighty Hastings
Castle a year later. |
