Bedfordshire Angling
Tingrith Coarse Fishery

Tingrith Fishery is set in 20 acres of beautiful
mature woodland. It is a three lake complex
covering some 11 acres of water. Each of the
three lakes are different and each offers
something special to the angler, whether it is
catching Golden Rudd on the pole, legering for
Ghost Carp or waggler fishing for some of
Tingrith`s legendary Tench. The lakes offer a
variety of depths to test your skills with many
underwater features. Large, secure platforms are
provided to fish from and the marginal reeds and
trees provide fantastic holding spots for the
fish all year round.
Chestnut Pool Fishery

A six-acre site featuring a 2.5 acre pool,
tackle shop, toilet and car park next to the
lake. The fishery has 30 pegs most have marginal
features and a maximum 50-meter cast to one of
the two islands. The lake is stocked to the
optimum level which gives anglers the best
chance of a great day's sport. Chestnut Pool is
a true mixed English fishery. The fish stock
includes Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch
and Crucians.

A mature coarse fishery with three canals
holding different fish species. They include
Canal 1. for the carp catcher. This has 33 pegs.
Canal 2. holds rudd, roach, tench. perch with
mirror, common, ghost and crucian carp. Canal 3.
is similar to canal 2 but also has bream, chubb,
gudgeon and dace.
Manor Farm is a well established fishery
offering a selection of 6 lakes plus a stretch
of the River Ivel. A variety of types of angling
are well catered for including specimen carp,
fly only, match and pleasure angling. The site
also offers a well stocked tackle shop open 7
days a week.
Rackley Hills lake is situated close to the
Leighton Buzzard bypass, off the Grovebury Road.
Although it is situated next to industry two
sides of the lake are bounded by woodland and
fields. The lake is enclosed by trees and offers
a secluded environment in which to fish. Access
to the lake is via the road leading to Grundfos
Pumps. Anglers may park in the areas indicated
on the map. Anglers may not park opposite the
gates to Grundfos Pumps or block the gates in
any way. Most swims are clearly bounded by trees
and bushes, giving a secluded atmosphere to the
water. Rackley Hills contains some large catfish
and carp. The catfish grow to 40lb, with a good
head of fish over 20lb. The carp are now growing
well and fish over 20lb can be caught. There are
two large common carp in the lake, one of them
in excess of 30lb. There are also roach, bream,
perch, gudgeon, pike and a few tench in the
lake.
Tiddenfoot lake is an old sand and gravel
working on the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard.
The lake is in a 'countryside park' belonging to
the District Council. The lake is very prolific,
producing quality fish of many species. One side
is shallow while the other three sides provide
deeper water close in. The shallow side and some
of the deeper water can be weedy but fishable
water can always be found. The lake contains
many species and is popular with all types of
angler. During the 1997/98 season fish of the
following species up to the indicated weights
were captured. Carp to 28lbs, Catfish to 34lbs,
Tench to 8lbs, Roach to 1.5lbs, Rudd to 1.5lbs,
Bream to 6lbs, C. Carp 2.5lbs Perch to 3lbs. The
lake is very popular with specimen hunters who
fish for the catfish and carp. There is a large
head of catfish to 34lb in the lake, with many
fish over 20lb. The carp have been steadily
growing and fish to over 30lb have been reported
during recent seasons.
Willington Lakes

Two gravel pits - Lake 1: 1.5 acre shallow weedy
pit surrounded by trees and bushes. Popular with
matchmen. Lake 2: 25 acre gravel pit with one
island, up to 15' with considerable depth
variation, about 10yrs old. Little bankside
vegetation. Water coloured since 1998 when the
Ouse flooded into it. Has fished well for silver
fish due to colour. Secure car parking available
with purchase of key from Blunham AC.
River Ouse Blunham

Over a mile of beautifully secluded middle Ouse
fishing. Chub to 6lb 9oz, Bream to 7lb, Tench to
8lb, Pike to 20lb, Roach to 2lb 9oz, Perch 3lb
2oz, skimmers, dace, bleak and gudgeon.
Longholm Lake
Bedford Embankment, Bedfordshire
FREE FISHING. Very very hard fishing, most of
the lake is closed through out the year. Few
know carp about 25lb , but lake is very shallow
and very silty. There are also boats on the
water for recreation. Fishing can be ok for
bream, and for perch and for general match
angling.
The site currently has 4 lakes and a stretch of
the River Ivel made famous by local fisherman
Dick Walker. They offer a range of types of
fishing including a fly-only trout lake, an any
method trout and mixed coarse fish lake (Becks
Lake), a 2 acre Mixed Lake (Blunham Lake) and a
4 acre specimen Carp Lake.
