Standing at
the mouth of Loch Aline, this Highland village
contains one of the earliest depictions of a
Scotsman wearing a kilt. The image is carved
on a stone in the local churchyard and dates
from around the 16th century. The ruin of
Ardtornish Castle - 14th century seat of the
Lord of the Isles – can be seen across the
loch.
