Set in the
midst of tranquil scenery, the hamlet of Loch
Ailort only developed when a small town was
built to house hundreds of workers as they
constructed the West Highland Railway,
punching long tunnels through bare rock. At
the head of the loch is a magnificent,
eight-arched viaduct. |
