A pleasant village famous for winter sports,
Dalwhinnie is encircled by magnificent
scenery, having developed around an inn used
by cattle drovers. It is equally well known as
the home of one of Scotland’s finest malt
whiskies and its Dalwhinnie distillery is said
to be the highest in Scotland, standing at
1,073 feet above sea level. The main buildings
were largely rebuilt following a fire in 1934. |
