In common
with all the villages in the Highland region,
Ballachulish is surrounded by jaw-dropping
scenery.
Located south of Fort William on Loch Leven,
it developed around a major slate quarry,
which continued for 250 years until closing in
the 1950s.
The quarry is a tourist attraction, as is a
local factory making the Scottish delicacy
tablet cake. |
