Visit this working power station on the north bank of Loch Awe, 19 miles east of Oban on the A85.


Mid Argyll Triathlon

Lochgilphead plays host to what is arguably the biggest multi sport event in Mid Argyll.
The Mid Argyll triathlon aspires to be a sporting event which promotes local community participation balanced with the right degree of sporting competition to attract some of the best Triathletes from across Scotland. Run by a small but dedicated committee centred on the Mid Argyll swimming pool in Lochgilphead the organisers welcome all entrants be they a member of a team or an individual. This is an annual event, attracting more and more interest across Scotland and locally. Event dates and further information available is from the website.

A one day wildlife and digital photography experience on the magnificent banks of Loch Awe. Join Philip Price, an award winning professional wildlife photographer, on a day of discovery looking at and taking photos of Argyll's magnificent wildlife. All equipment's provided for the day including professional standard digital cameras and lenses, as is all tuition, access to the unique Loch Visions wildlife zones, and even a Photoshop session in the afternoon. You leave with a CD containing all your images and a print out of your best shot of the day. Next day booking available from April - September.

Prepare to get close to nature with our animals and birds as you walk around Argyll Wildlife Park, Scotland's only wildfowl park.
