Loch Lomond – Scotland's best known loch – the largest expanse of fresh water in Britain makes an ideal day trip. Shop and pub within ½ mile.

The picturesque village of Lochgoilhead which stands on the banks of Loch Goil (pictured) is the setting for this cosy and comfortable property (shown left). Enjoying a central position with the village close at hand including shops pubs and fine restaurants it offers a good base for exploring Oban and the Kyles of Bute as well as Loch Lomond. This is wonderful hill walking country and Loch Goil provides opportunities for sailing and fishing. 'Rest and Be Thankful Valley' is just 5 miles away and the delightful harbour village of Inverary is within easy driving distance. Golf tennis riding and cycle hire locally.

At Lochgoilhead attached to the impressive Drimsynie House Hotel enjoy a range of outdoor and all weather activities second to none in the west of Scotland. Set in the midst of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park backed by mountains and overlooking Loch Goil it offers you an ideal base for touring the Western Highlands.
Pony trekking and a tennis court are all available in the village just a mile away. There is free fishing on Loch Goil or Drimsynie's own two hill lochs (permits also available for River Goil).
During the main holiday periods you can enjoy a mid week disco/karaoke night. There is a Saturday night dinner dance throughout the year (except July and August).
The 9 hole scenic golf course at Loch Goil starts outside the leisure centre and runs along the shores of the loch.
A superb area for walks ranging from easy loch side and forest walks to more challenging treks in the nearby Arrochar Alps including a number of peaks over 3000ft. Conveniently accessible are a number of marked forest trails.
