This village is
the largest in
the central
Buchan region
and lies at an
important
crossroads for
traffic, also
being an access
point on the
36-mile Buchan
Walkway. It was
created – like
so many places
in eastern
Scotland – to
house local
estate workers
in the 19th
century. It had
the distinct
advantage, even
then, of being
strategically
important and by
the 1860s had
its own railway
station. Nearby
is beautiful
Aden Country
Park with a
heritage centre,
nature trails
and a working
farm. |
