The Deeside Gliding club provide training
courses for novices who may never have tried
gliding, to the more experienced pilots up to
Bronze C standard. Enjoy your Glider training in
the highlands of Scotland, above the beautiful
countryside of the Grampian mountains. The five
day course will give you a good grounding and
put you well on the way to way to your solo
certificate if you decide to continue after you
have finished your gliding holiday. Weather
permitting you will be able to sample most
aspects of soaring flight including the use of
wave, thermal and ridge lift to prolong your
flight time. All launches are by aerotow to 2000
ft, however higher tows may sometimes be
necessary to enable the glider to contact wave
up currents. Bunk room accommodation is £7 per
night and there is also space for Mobile Homes
(Caravans) and tents on site. For more

The club meets at the Aberdeen Boat Club on the
south bank of the river Dee at about 21:00 on
the first and third Thursdays of each month.
Please be aware that the club is not a flying
school and does not offer instruction to
beginners.
