The Queen's Hall is home to the Scottish Chamber
Orchestra, one of the world's finest, and is
well known for its world class series of jazz
concerts (in fact The Independent includes The
Queen's Hall in their 50 Best .. Jazz Venues
feature); hosts the Edinburgh International
Festival's series of morning recitals; Festival
Fringe events, and of course the Edinburgh
International Jazz & Blues Festival. By
adjusting the size of the stage it can
accommodate anything from a string quartet, or a
full symphony orchestra to a full touring rock
band, whilst maintaining its excellent natural
acoustics. The Queen's Hall is also the proud
owner of 2 magnificent Steinway Grand pianos. We

The Scottish Storytelling Centre is located at
The Netherbow, the halfway point between
Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse
on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Here the city's
principal Gateway, The Netherbow Port,
originally stood. The Netherbow is a gateway to
Scotland's living storyteller traditions. Enjoy
stories of Celtic saints and warlords; Vikings
and voyagers; William Wallace and Robert the
Bruce; John Knox and Mary Queen of Scots;
Covenanters, Royalists, Jacobites and smugglers;
Robert Burns and Walter Scott; explorers,
scientists, pioneering women and writers. Learn
too about the world of international tales
shared across cultures and gathered by Scots
Travellers encountering Africa, India, the
Americas, China, Japan, the Pacific, Russia and
other parts of Europe. You can learn more about
Scotland's landscape and wildlife, its people,
religion and politics and culture through
stories. Go on a storytelling walk or arrange a
special session to suit your theme and
interests. Regular tours available from the
centre include: The Preacher and the Goldsmith
(tour of John Knox House), Royal Mile
Storytelling Walks, The Arthur's Seat Storywalk,
The Calton Hill Storywalk. Storytelling sessions
are available for all age groups in John Knox
House (unbeatable for evening ghost tales), the
Netherbow Storytelling Garden, the Storytelling
Centre itself, or at a location of your choice.

Welcome to Bedlam Theatre, the home of the
Edinburgh University Theatre Company. As well as
being the only fully student run theatre in the
UK, the Bedlam Theatre hosts over 50 student
shows each year, runs a project to get local
children interested in theatre and during the
summer becomes a high profile Edinburgh Fringe
