This old village
is famous for the manufacture of glass after
John Lucas created one of the world’s largest
glassworks here in the late 18th
century. Nearby at Wraxall is the
many-turreted, Gothic Revival mansion of
Tyntesfield. Built in the 19th
century, the house and gardens are in the
hands of the National Trust. |
