Burnham is one of the natural Championship Links
courses, which stretch down the west coast of
England from Royal Birkdale in the north to
Westward Ho! in the south. Throughout the years
Burnham has gained an honoured place in golf, it
is a great test, although not easy, it has
tremendous charm which grows on you and its
layout is such that it is not unduly harsh on
moderate players. The setting is perfect,
situated close to junction 22 on the M5, it has
panoramic views of the Somerset hills and the
Devon coast line sweeping across the famed reed
beds and the Bristol Channel with the islands of
Steepholm and Flatholm standing out against the
background of the Welsh coast line.
Located amid the rolling hills of Somerset, on
the outskirts of Frome. We offer a warm welcome
to both the experienced golfer as well as those
just starting out in the sport. The course was
opened in 1992, with continued development,
including, extending the layout, intensive tree
planting, several new ponds and sand traps, has
now created a superb par 69 course over 5466
yards which provides a challenge to golfers of
all abilities, with a good mix of long and short
holes. Other facilities include covered driving
range, Practice bunker, putting green, and
licensed light refreshments bar.
Has to be one of the finest new courses in the
county. Set in mature parkland with beautiful
water features coming into play on seven of the
holes. It is a challenge to golfers of all
standards. At 6831 yards it is a longish course
but each hole is a delight. SSS 73 (70 off
yellows and 72 off reds).
Golf has been played at
Weston-super-Mare Links since 1892 and the game
of golf has come a long way from its origins and
this applies not least to societies and
corporate organisations, who have come to demand
an excellent course on which to play, and
genuine hospitality in the clubhouse. We at
Weston-Super-Mare recognise these requirements
and structure ourselves to give you all the
support and assistance you need to ensure the
success of your visit.
The course is on links
running parallel to the beach on the south side
of Weston-Super-Mare town. Being relatively flat
it provides easy walking, but is laid out to
give a good test of golf to players of all
capabilities. The greens are always of the
highest quality, and being located in an area
enjoying a moderate climate with free-draining
subsoil golf is playable throughout the year and
can provide a welcome change from temporary
greens and artificial tees other clubs endure
throughout the winter months.
