THE
Hotel
"so much to do - so much to see but with time to relax and enjoy yourself at the Forest Heath Hotel"
We extend a warm welcome to our small, friendly Hotel located, in the centre of Sway which is a traditional rural village on the southern edge of the New Forest.

We are in a remarkable corner of the English countryside set aside as a special place more than nine centuries ago by William the Conqueror as his "New" hunting forest. The landscape is unique and traditions exist here that are unchanged since mediaeval times. The New Forest's ancient woodlands and wilderness heathers remain largely intact where ponies and cattle still have the right of way as they freely graze the land. Deeper in the forest wild deer browse beneath canopies of mighty oak and beech - natural scenes unchanged by the modern world.

Our dining room extends into a large conservatory which overlooks a very spacious garden area where in warm weather you can dine 'alfresco'!

There are eight tastefully refurbished rooms at The Forest Heath Hotel, each named after local forest towns and villages. All rooms are en-suite, with tea & coffee making facilities and colour television. Families and pets are welcome, business people will find this an ideal location for a relaxed and informal stopover away hectic schedule of meetings.

The menu is varied and caters for all tastes from classic English fayre to vegetarian and of course our own "chef’s specials". A hearty full English breakfast is served or if you prefer, something lighter. You can enjoy a relaxing drink in the large and secluded landscaped garden where there is a children’s play area and the biggest boules court outside of France! So try your hand at this traditional French game. garden.jpg (21117 bytes)

Centrally located, we are ideally, situated for all of the main attractions in the area, most of which are only 20 minutes drive away. Some interesting places to visit are The New Forest Museum and Visitor Centre in Lyndhurst, the world famous National Motor Museum and Palace House, home of the Montague family at Beaulieu. Also the spectacular Exbury Gardens famous for its collection of azaleas and rhododendrons.

There are local golf courses at Barton-on-Sea and Dibden. An off-road-on-road cycle network has been created throughout the Forest and bicycles can be hired from a centre at Brockenhurst. No opportunity, should be lost to explore the Forest on horseback as many riding schools have facilities for both experienced and novice riders. Within a short distance there are excellent cliff top walks with magnificent views of the Needles and Isle of Wight. The maritime heritage of Southampton, the entertainment resort of Bournemouth and the cathedral city of Winchester, are less than an hour away.
