WOOLACOMBE

With a long, trophy-winning sandy beach, this pretty seaside village lies at the northern end of Morte Bay - a hot spot for surfing - where a sunken reef is known as Morte Stone.

Barricane Beach is famous for Caribbean shells washed up by the sea.

The bay itself is flanked by the opposing headlands of

Baggy Point and Morte Point.

All around is striking cliff scenery.
