Nestling on the
south-eastern edge of the Severn Vale in the
village of Lower Almondsbury, the present
building became a licensed inn in 1550, and it
was used by James ll.’s sheriffs during the
latter half of the seventeenth century to try
supporters of the Duke of Monmouth. The Bowl Inn
is ideally located, enjoying the peace and quiet
of a small village and yet easily accessible
from the M4 and M5.
Each comfortable room has
been individually furnished to complement the
original architectural features uncovered during
the restoration of the upper floor. Every room
is en-suite and equipped with a telephone, tea
and coffee-making facilities, colour television
with Sky TV and DVD player, computer with
internet access, trouser press and a hairdryer. Lilies Restaurant offers a cosy and
well-appointed environment in which to enjoy a
superb meal at an affordable price. We aim to
use the highest quality fresh produce available
to us, and all food is cooked and prepared to
order. For those who wish to eat in the more
informal atmosphere of the bar, we have an
extremely wide range of meals and snacks, from
baguettes to the finest beef, from pasta to
mussels.
