Nestling on the south-eastern edge of the Severn Vale in the village of Lower Almondsbury, the present building became a licensed inn in 1550, and it was used by James ll.’s sheriffs during the latter half of the seventeenth century to try supporters of the Duke of Monmouth. The Bowl Inn is ideally located, enjoying the peace and quiet of a small village and yet easily accessible from the M4 and M5.

Each comfortable room has been individually furnished to complement the original architectural features uncovered during the restoration of the upper floor. Every room is en-suite and equipped with a telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, colour television with Sky TV and DVD player, computer with internet access, trouser press and a hairdryer. Lilies Restaurant offers a cosy and well-appointed environment in which to enjoy a superb meal at an affordable price. We aim to use the highest quality fresh produce available to us, and all food is cooked and prepared to order. For those who wish to eat in the more informal atmosphere of the bar, we have an extremely wide range of meals and snacks, from baguettes to the finest beef, from pasta to mussels.
