This picturesque village
lies on the River Avon and was the birthplace
of Charles Chubb (1779-1845) who first
patented the ubiquitous Chubb lock. A local
doll museum has a remarkable collection of
both wax and bisque dolls from around Europe,
including a 19th century doll’s dress from the
family of Lord Nelson. |
