NEW FOREST CIDER
Little Mead, Pound Lane, Burley, Ringwood,
Hampshire, BH24 4ED
Tel: 01425 403589
E-mail:
newforestcider@msn.com
Cider making was part of
the New Forest Commoner's way of life on their
holdings for generations, and at Little Mead,
Burley, this old-fashioned craft of cider making
has been revived. Using their own local orchard
apples, together with fruit gathered from
traditional cider orchards, the fruit is pressed
during October, November and December when the
different varieties become ripe. After
fermentation, the cider is blended into freshly
emptied whisky barrels to enhance the flavour.
Our aim is to produce an
interesting draught cider that is a pure
undiluted drink, free from artificial colouring
and flavouring. You may sample our range of
ciders and perry straight from the barrels. We
also sell locally made preserves, handmade
pottery and forest photos by Barry Whitcher.
