An attractive woodland/heathland course set at
the edge of the New Forest, an unusual 3 loops
of 6 holes to complete a round. Water comes into
play on several holes testing your short irons
and nerve! The par 4's and par 5's require
accuracy, a well kept course that offers a fair
challenge to players of all standards. Excellent
clubhouse and facilities, a handicap certificate
is required.
Bramshaw Set
amidst the beautiful New Forest the
Bramshaw club offers a choice of two
widely contrasting first class 18 hole
golf courses.
The Forest Course is the oldest in
Hampshire (1880) and the Manor Course,
built in 1970, is undoubtedly one of the
finest and most picturesque in the
country.
Set amidst the beautiful New Forest in landscaped
parkland of mature specimen trees and hardwood
plantations. Built by the present owners on their
private estate in 1970, today's first class course
is the result of continuous and ongoing
improvements. A gently undulating course with
excellent fairways that demand accurate tee and
approach shots to the well manicured greens. These
fairways and tight lines present the golfer with a
complete contrast to the Forest Course just a few
hundred yard away.
Originally built in 1880, the Forest Course is the
oldest in Hampshire and is in complete contrast to
the Manor Course. With its open aspects and
rolling heathland, the ever changing scenery of
humps, hollows and meandering streams test golfing
skills and judgement within an idyllic setting.
The ever present prospect of a deer emerging from
the trees or a mare chivvying her foal across the
fairway gives the Forest Course a very special and
unique appeal.
This picturesque heathland course is laid out in
a typical stretch of the New Forest on high
ground. Some testing holes requiring accuracy
and the greens are well protected. A good test
to players of all abilities, set in fine
surroundings.
Founded in 1905, the course was set out and
built by a number of local gentlemen on Forestry
land and is a typical heath land course that has
remained almost unchanged in its 100 years
existence.
Burley Golf club is a 9
hole course, but has 18 tees and is quite
different second time around due to the
different tee positions. Heathland course,
undulating fairways, accuracy is essential on
some holes and tricky greens will test the
putter. Only 9 holes course but some different
tee positions on back 9, a good challenge for
all abilities. Fine facilities, a handicap
certificate is preferred.
This municipal course is set in the beautiful
surroundings of a country park. It offers a test
for all standards. Many water hazards come into
play on several holes testing how accurate you
approach the green.
