Island Brass Rubbing Centre

Here you can discover the simple craft of brass rubbing, using our metallic waxes and specialist papers. Make your own knight to take home in just half an hour. A treasured memento, a beautiful wall hanging or a unique gift. Run by teachers who provide a unique educational opportunity for visitors to the brass rubbing centre to gain an insight into the work of the early engravers, together with an appreciation of the outstanding beauty of their work. Demonstrations and illustrated talks bring the characters to life and tell us about their lives and the world in which they lived. Specialising in school groups. Guided tours of medieval church available by arrangement.

Five mile steam railway using genuine Victorian and Edwardian locomotives and carriages dating back to the 1870s. The principal station at Havenstreet has a museum, souvenir shop, cafe and bar. Other attractions also include children's playground, gardens and woodland walk.

Open April to October. Fare is £9.00 for adults and £4.50 for children (fares will vary during special events). Large coach and car park at Havenstreet. From the mainland the most convenient routes to the railway are by Wightlink Ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde, or Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde and then by Island Line electric train to the junction station of Smallbrook.

White Falconry Ltd was set up in June 2004 on the Isle of Wight. The Company is run by Steven Hain, who is a qualified gamekeeper, and his partner Lynette Atkinson.

 


With over five and a half years experience in the field of falconry incorporating falconry demonstrations, falconry days and corporate days. White Falconry prides itself on the quality of its birds. To do this we as a company don't have that many birds, we have just enough birds for the demonstrations.
