Union Sports was
established in 2005.
We aim to provide the
best knowledge as well as the highest standard
of fishing equipment; we deal with Abu Garcia,
Mustad, Berkley, Fladen, Shimano and many more.

provide only the best baits. Come visit us. You
may need a rod, reel, tackle, camping or hiking
gear or just some friendly advice.
Gunville Pond

Description: Approx. 2 acres. Drive
through Carisbrooke from Newport turn right at
Waverly roundabout. Pond is situated about 1/2
mile up the road on the left through metal five
bar gate just before Alvington Manor View. Go
through gates park up its down the dip! Very
beautiful pond. Lovely setting , very
picturesque. Fish: Tench to 4lb, Common and Mirror
Carp between 2lb and 13lb, Common Bream to 4lb,
Roach to 1lb (getting bigger) Rudd to 1lb, Perch
to 2lb and Pike to 20lb.
Hale Manor Lakes
Hale Farm, Hale Common, Newport, Isle of Wight Tel: 01983 865204
Description: Two lakes, one is a day
ticket water £5 per day. Other Lake is Syndicate
and contains better fish. Fish: Day Ticket water contains many
small carp @5lb and upwards also other coarse
fish.
Description: Pryde of Cowes is a tackle
and bait shop which alsosells the day tickets
for the Isle of Wight freshwater angling
association.In
addition to fresh water, they have
a vast selection of sea fishing tackle i.e. Rods
, Reels and all terminal tackle.
With fresh and frozen baits
for sea fishing.It also offers a
newsagents as well. Open all year round
Monday – Saturday from 5am – 5 pm and on Sundays
from 6am.
River Yar
Yarbridge, Brading, Isle of Wight
Description: Situated near to the B3395.
Here one can fish the right hand bank looking
downstream of Yarbridge to the first sluice and
left hand bank looking upstream of Yarbridge to
the small brick pumphouse. Pretty peaceful
setting. Fish: The odd carp to 14lb Common bream
to 7lb, Roach to 1 1/2 lb, Dace to 10oz, Gudgeon,
Tench to 4lb together with the odd roach/rudd
Hybrid and Roach/bream Hybrid and Perch to 1lb.
Somerton Reservoir
Newport Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight
Description: About 2 acres of deep
reservoir water near to main road. Fish: Carp to 20lbs.
