One of the most important
Roman villas discovered in Britain was
unearthed in this West Sussex village in the
1960's and has now become a tourist attraction
in its own right.
Fishbourne Royal Palace has
100 rooms and was occupied during the 2nd and
3rd centuries AD.
It may have been home to the
Celtic chieftain Cogidubnus, a viceroy of the
Romans. |
